Organic Lawn Care Program
The choice of an organic lawn care program may not be for everyone, but does offer an alternative to synthetic products. Milorganite products belong to a class of materials called Biosolids; it has been sold since 1926 and is the ideal choice for a lawn fertilizer program that uses organic nitrogen as their base. Biosolids are the residual microbes that have digested nutrients out of sewage waste streams. Milorganite will not burn turf; it will not cause damage to ornamental plants if it accidentally is applied to them. Most of the organic fertilizers will also contain poultry manure which is a great source of calcium. Overall your lawn will receive a fair amount of iron which will improve the color of the turf with both quick and slow release nitrogen. The biodiversity of the two sources of quality organic matter will attract different sets of beneficial organisms to your turf grass.

The downside of an organic program is that it includes absolutely no pre-emergent for grassy weeds like crabgrass or broadleaf control for weeds like dandelions and clover.
Of course the programs can be mixed and matched to offer the best of both worlds. Please call or email to receive pricing.
